Plettenberg Bay is characterised by sweeping, unspoilt golden beaches, a dramatic rocky peninsula, intriguing lagoons and estuaries, towering indigenous forests and unpolluted rivers and sea. With its exceptional climate, and beautiful view sites over the Indian Ocean, Plettenberg Bay is perfect for tourists interested in exploring, watching or just lazing.
The guesthouse is central to the largest selection of attractions along the Garden Route. They are spread along the coast from Knysna, a thirty-minute drive west, to the furthest point of the Tsitsikamma Forest in the east. In-between are subjects of interest that have keep guests busily occupied – Beaches, Whale and Dolphin Watching, Surfing, Fishing, Kayaking, Boating Golfing, Nature Walks/Cycling Wildlife Arts & Crafts and shopping.
Beaches
Plettenberg Bay boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in South Africa. The town’s 20 kilometres of picturesque Indian Ocean coastline features pristine, unspoilt sandy beaches.
Throughout the year, you’ll find beachgoers of all ages soaking up the sun and enjoying the many outdoor activities you’ll find in Plettenberg Bay.
Plettenberg Bay has six premier “Blue Flag” status beaches, including Robberg, Lookout Beach, Keurboomstrand, The Dunes, The Singing Kettle and Nature’s Valley.
Ocean Safaris and Ocean Blue cruises leave from Central Beach on a daily basis. After a short briefing, an exhilarating beach launch will be the start of your adventure.
The boats operate three to four times a day, seven days a week, depending on sea and weather conditions.
The duration of each tour is approximately 2 hours, life jackets, windbreakers and refreshments are provided.

Golf
Plettenberg Bay is well known for its beautiful golf courses – Plettenberg Bay Country Club and Goose Valley.
Both are superb 18 hole courses. Booking ahead of time is essential.
Other courses to play are Pezula and Simola in Knysna and Fancourt in George. Plett Country Club | Goose Valley | Pezula in Knysna | Simola in Knysna.
The experience is somewhat of a closer kind than at Kruger or Addo – visitors are allowed to touch and feed the elephants.
Here the legacy of the Knysna Elephant lives on.
The Knysna Elephant Park and The Elephant Sanctuary are both 10 minutes by car from the centre of Plettenberg Bay.

Monkeyland
Monkeyland is unique as a primate sanctuary.
It is home to many varied species of monkey from several continents, which were captive bred prior to their release at Monkeyland.
Situated 16 km east of Plett, it offers visitors safaris conducted by game rangers. This is the world’s only multi species, free roaming primate sanctuary.
Birds of Eden is the World’s largest single span aviary.
The sanctuary provides a better life for 3 000+ previously caged birds.
A large variety of both indigenous and exotic birds can be seen at the sanctuary, however Birds of Eden will eventually be home to the largest collection of free-flight African birds in the World.

Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary
Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary focuses on wildlife conservation education.
Where big cats are at home. A life changing experience with Bengal Tigers.
White Bengal Tigers, Siberian Tigers, Lions, Leopards and Black Leopard Pumas, Jaguars, Wild Dog’s, Snakes and a lot more.
Robberg Nature Reserve, situated 8km south of Plettenberg Bay on the Garden Route, is not only a nature reserve, but also a World Heritage Site.
Rocks from this region date back 120 million years to the break-up of Gondwanaland and evidence of middle and later Stone Age inhabitation has been found in a few of the caves along the peninsula.

Swimming with the Seals
Plett Seal Adventures – A scenic boat trip out from the shores of Plettenberg Bay will take you right into the heart of the Robberg Cape Fur Seal colony.
Here you can enjoy the view from the boat, or dive into the refreshing, pristine waters to swim alongside these playful, gentle-natured creatures.
Watch them dash, dive, socialise and sunbathe right in their natural habitat – and be amazed as they play and interact with you too. We are in the water for 20 to 30 minutes.
